Mike Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter was pronounced dead at ll:45 AM on Tuesday May 26.  Little Exodus Tyson became tangled in a cord that was dangling from a treadmill in her Phoenix home on Monday, May 25.  She was discovered by her 7 year-old brother, who ran to the next room to alert his mother.   Upon entering the room, the mother untangled the cord from around Exodus’s neck, called 911  and began CPR.  CPR was performed by the medical team all the way to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.

Officials are yet to understand exactly what happened and are still investigating in what they call a “tragic accident.” Phoenix police spokesman Andy Hill said in a statement, “Somehow she was playing on this treadmill, and there’s a cord that hangs under the console – it’s kind of a loop.   Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was obviously unable to get herself off of it.  Our sympathies go out to the family.”

There could be nothing worse in life than losing a child, my prayers go out to Mr. Tyson and his family.  The nightmares that the brother and mother will go through are unimaginable.  A few years ago, my girlfriend and I found her son who had committed suicide by hanging, the images stayed with me for many, many nights.  Unfortunately for my friend the images never went away and she took her own life  3 years later.  No matter how much counseling she went through the imagines would never leave her.  I understand that this tragedy is completely different, but losing a child is losing a child.  Again, my heartfelt sympathies to this grieving  mother and little boy.
