Top Ten Things Overheard at Obama’s Beer Summit

Top 10 things overheard at the beer summit!

Obama’s Beer Summit Set For Thursday

A suggestion from President Obama.  Hey guys, let’s just all get along and talk about this over a few beers. Of course, Henry Louis Gates Jr., the Harvard University Professor and Sgt. James Crowley, the Cambridge, Mass., Police Department both said yes. Let the summit over racial profiling begin.

What started as a local incident quickly became national when President Obama offered his two cents into the equation and stated that the “Cambridge police acted stupidly” in arresting the professor on a charge of disorderly conduct after a possible break in at his home. Charges were dropped against Professor Gates, but by then it was too late. Nobody has apologized, but Obama came the closest last week when he said his “choice of words was poor.”

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said in an interview that this summit might be the first step toward a rapprochement. “Whenever you get race and politics, it’s like catnip,” Gibbs said, sitting behind his desk in his West Wing office. “All you need is a spark — and cable television is happy to do that.”

It has been stated that “Law enforcement agencies will be watching closely for any sign that the president will favor his friend Gates over Crowley.”

I just wonder how long this summit will last. A black man, a white man, and a bi-racial man, drinking alcohol and discussing racial profiling. Could be interesting….

OK, people you voted for him now we all have to deal with it for the next 4 years….  Obama showed all through his Presidential campaign his willingness to use both blacks and whites to reach his goal of becoming President of The United States and then toss them aside.  Now he is starting to show his TRUE colors, and they’re NOT RED, WHITE or BLUE!

NATICK, Mass. – A white police sergeant who arrested renowned black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. said Thursday he is disappointed President Barack Obama said officers acted “stupidly,” despite acknowledging he didn’t know all the facts.

Sgt. James Crowley responded to Gates’ home near Harvard University last week to investigate a report of a burglary and demanded Gates show him identification. Police say Gates at first refused and accused the officer of racism.

Gates was charged with disorderly conduct. The charge was dropped Tuesday for some reason, and Gates has since demanded an apology from Crowley.  Sgt. Crowley refuses to apologize and says that he will not in the future.

Obama was asked about the arrest of Gates, who is his friend, at the end of a nationally televised news conference on health care Wednesday night.

“I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry,” Obama said. “Number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And number three — what I think we know separate and apart from this incident — is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.”

In radio interviews Thursday morning, Crowley maintained he had done nothing wrong in arresting Gates.

“I support the president of the United States 110 percent. I think he was way off base wading into a local issue without knowing all the facts as he himself stated before he made that comment,” Crowley told WBZ-AM. “I guess a friend of mine would support my position, too.”

Crowley did not immediately respond to messages left by The Associated Press on Thursday.

Gates has said he was “outraged” by the arrest. He said the white officer walked into his home without his permission and only arrested him as the professor followed him to the porch, repeatedly demanding the sergeant’s name and badge number because he was unhappy over his treatment.

“This isn’t about me; this is about the vulnerability of black men in America,” Gates said.

He said the incident made him realize how vulnerable poor people and minorities are “to capricious forces like a rogue policeman, and this man clearly was a rogue policeman.”

Crowley, 42, said he won’t apologize. And his union has expressed “full and unqualified” support for him.

On Thursday, he told WBZ that Gates verbally assailed him. The police report says Crowley asked Gates to talk outside, to which he responded “Yeah, I’ll speak with your mama outside.”

“There was a lot of yelling, there was references to my mother, something you wouldn’t expect from anybody that should be grateful that you’re there investigating a report of a crime in progress let alone a Harvard University professor,” Crowley said Thursday.

Fellow officers, black and white, say he is well-liked and respected on the force. Crowley was a campus police officer at Brandeis University in July 1993 when he administered CPR trying to save the life of former Boston Celtics player Reggie Lewis. Lewis, who was black, collapsed and died during an off-season workout.

Gates’ supporters maintain his arrest was a case of racial profiling. Officers were called to the home by a woman who said she saw “two black males with backpacks” trying to break in the front door. Gates has said he arrived home from an overseas trip and the door was jammed.

The president said federal officials need to continue working with local law enforcement “to improve policing techniques so that we’re eliminating potential bias.”

How is this being bias?  Gates’s own neighbor, who I would think would have recognized him, called in the report.  Gates refused to comply by not showing his identification when asked and then verbally assaulted the officer with slurs about his mother!  If this had been a white man he also would have been arrested.  So once again, how is this being bias?

“What I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately,” Obama said. “That’s just a fact.”

Gov. Deval Patrick, who is black, said he was troubled and upset over the incident. Cambridge Mayor Denise Simmons, who also is black, has said she spoke with Gates and apologized on behalf of the city, and a statement from the city called the July 16 incident “regrettable and unfortunate.”

The mayor refused Thursday to comment on the president’s remarks.

Police supporters charge that Gates, director of Harvard’s W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research, was responsible for his own arrest by overreacting.

Black students and professors at Harvard have complained for years about racial profiling by Cambridge and campus police. Harvard commissioned an independent committee last year to examine the university’s race relations after campus police confronted a young black man who was using tools to remove a bike lock. The man worked at Harvard and owned the bike.

Richard Weinblatt, director of the Institute for Public Safety at Central Ohio Technical College, said the police sergeant was responsible for defusing the situation once he realized Gates was the lawful occupant. It is not against the law to yell at police, especially in a home, as long as that behavior does not affect an investigation, he said.

“That is part of being a police officerin a democratic society,” Weinblatt said. “The point is that the police sergeant needs to be the bigger person, take the higher road, be more professional.”

YOU are under my spell.....

YOU are under my spell.....

Lookie here what I found… Our article titled ( Michael Jackson 777  Obama 666 ) has gotten quite a bit of attention.  So, I googled it just to see where it ranked and guess what I found?  I thought that I was being original with my idea and even said I was curious about how many associations could be put with Obama and 666.  Well here is one that just popped up!  I guess I’m not the only one that has noticed strange things happening…

Her is a copy of the article and a link to the site so you can read it for yourself…  Very eerie…

This is really strange. On the heels of the Obama historic election as president, his home state of Illinois drew 666 in its Pick 3 lottery. Is this just a fluke or a sign of things to come. Many people have called Obama the Anti-Christin the pre-elections, but that is really not uncommon of public features. Almost all of them have been compared to the Anti-Christ at some point in their careers. Its also not the first time that the 666 number has surfaced in a Pick 3 lottery, but for this to happen in Illinoisright after Obama was elected is really strange.

I don’t subscribe to conspiracy theories much, but this one is a little over the top and the timing of this 666 drawing in Illinoisis just eery. So what are your thoughts? Does this mean Illinois 666 drawinglends credibility that Obama is the Anti-Christ? There are a lot of similarities between Obama and characteristics that people have assigned to the Anti-Christ and even in the bible. I’ll wait until he starts killing people before I associate the Illinois lottery drawing 666to Obama. I never liked him nor supported his plan, but now he is the president and he should have a measure of initial support. Of course if he screws up, it will definitely be posted here. I may have to open the bible this afternoon and take a look for some additional similarities not because I want Obama to be the Anti-Christ, just because I’m curious now about the potential implications for this Illinois 666 drawing. Perhaps they are related, if they are not related it sure is weird.

Michael Jackson’s 777 vs Obama’s 666

All of America is already in a  freanzy  about the loss of so many celebrities is such a short period of time.  Six, to be exact.  David Carradine, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, Ed McMahon and Karl Malden.  Six is a bad number!

Now, someone has figured out the FREAKY  stuff.. I’m even freaked out over this information… It sends chills down my spine, especially after Michael’s  ghostly shadow was reported at Never Land…

In case you didn’t know… The number 666 represents Satin because he is considered to be incomplete and can not reach the number the next level.  God, on the other hand, is represented by the number 7 which signifies completeness…  That is the reason there is so many  references to the number 7 in the Bible when referring to God.

Now check this out!

Michael Jackson had his memorial today, which was  77-09

Michael Jackson signed his will on  77-02

Michael dies 7 years after he signed his will…

He was the 7th sibling in his family.

His biggest hits, “Billy Jean” & “Black & White” were both NO.1 for 7 weeks.

His albums, “Thriller, Bad and Dangerous”, all produced 7 top 40 hits.

Is this not creepy enough for you?

We even discussed the possibility of  Obama being the Anti-Christ in Sunday school before Obama became President.  Our preacher assured us that it would be a global event, not just within the United States.  I didn’t really put much stock in the possibility anyway.

Michael effected the globe, much like Obama is attempting to today.

From what I remember being tought from Sunday school about  the book of Revelations in The Bible, however, Christ would return.  That he would attempt to bring peace to the world and fail and then perish.

During this time the Anti-Christ would rise and accomplish what Christ could not, bringing peace to the world….  He is known as “The Deceiver“.

Obama has deceived many of us since becomming President with his false promises.

Michael Jackson vs Obama?

If I’m not mistaken, Michael Jackson had his picture made with every President “except” Obama…..

I find this VERY scary!!!!!!

Michael attempted to bring peace to the world.  He came close but didn’t reach his goal.

Michael was accused of several horrible acts that was never proven as fact and never wavered from his goal of equality and peace for all people of the PLANET, not just the United States.

Michael’s life was surrounded by the number 7.

Michael has passed.

Obama became President before Michael’s death.

Michael attempted to change the world though love which he did.  But he was unable to achieve global peace.

They never had their picture made together which is the only President that he did not have his picture made with.

People followed Obama no matter what he did or said as if they were in a trance and still elected him President.

Obama is now developing peaceful relationships with world leaders to bring peace to he world although the citizens of the United States do not like his tactics, just as the Bible had predicted that he Anti-Christ “The Deciever” would do.

I just wonder how many 6’s Obama can be affiliated with?

Bomb Smuggled into Federal Buildings

murrah2This really gets me angry!.  Plainclothes investigators were sent into federal buildings with bomb parts and not only got through security, they were able to go to the restroom, assemble the bombs, put them in briefcases and walk into individual offices!  It gets even better, one of the buildings housed offices of Homeland Security, which is responsible for keeping all federal office building.

These investigators used actual bomb parts, not simulated explosives! They also took photos of one guard sleeping.  And it gets better, this guard was fired, then sued the agancy for failing to provide X-Ray training, and he won because it could not be proven that he had indeed been trained.

CNN is reporting on the entire story.  Take a look at for all of the details.

If this is any sign on how safe we are…..we are in deep doggie doo.

Congressman, Pete King, spoke out today voicing his opinion on all of the attention that Michael Jackson’s death has received over the past weeks.  He was reported as saying that he feels that the American people should be honoring the men and women of the Armed Forced, not  a “pedophile” and “child molester” like Michael Jackson.

The Congressman bashed America’s celebration of the life of Michael Jackson, the “King of Pop” instead of honoring and giving thanks to the people who serve in the armed forces.
It’s safe to say King wasn’t one of the 1.6 million people who signed up for memorial tickets.

Watch the video of his statements here.<!– POST CONTENTS END –>

The Potty mouthed Material Girl did it again!  MADONNA has upset dignitaries in St. Petersburg, Russia.  She used foul language to promote an upcoming show in their fair city.
The “Pop Queen”  proclaimed to the Russians, “It’s f**king great” at the beginning of an online audio teaser for her Sticky and Sweet concert in Palace Square on August 2, 2009.
Reports suggest members of the legislative assembly in St. Petersburg have addressed Governor Valentina Matvienko, with a proposal to sue Madonna for her comments.
It’s not the first time Madonna’s Palace Square show has come under fire .  City officials fear the concert could offend the moral and religious sensibilities of the citizens of St. Petersburg.
Mikhail Piotrovsky, the head of the city’s Heritage Museum, has urged the pop star not to swear during the show.

GASP, I guess rappers don’t tour in places like Russia…  Can you just imagine?  The legislative assembly would be laying on the floor frothing from the mouth if they ever heard Eminem or 50 cent… lol

No, she’s not looking for a pole…  Sexy Sarah Palin just announced plans to resign as governor of Alaska in a few weeks, KTUU-TV reported Friday.

Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008, made the announcement at her home Friday morning, the station said.

Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will take over at the end of the month, KTUU reported.

With her at the announcement were Parnell and most of her cabinet.

There was no immediate word as to why she will step down before the end of her first term, though some have speculated in the past that she may be interested in running for president in 2012.

I guess that why she is dressed this way…  She getting ready to run (for President)…..

Woodstock Museum Hosts Lennon Bed-In

lennonJohn Lennon and Yoko Ono’ s famous bed from their “Give Peace A Chance” Bed-In will be displayed at the Woodstock Museum in Bethel Woods, New York.

The exhibit will feature more than 20 large-format photos and 15 test panels by Gerry Dieter.  Dieter is the photographer that covered the couple’s famous peace protest for Life Magazine.  He remained with the couple for the entire 8 days, documenting  and capturing the couple giving interviews, singing and chatting with famous pals.  The event, staged in room 1742 of Montreal, Canada’s Queen Elizabeth Hotel, was held to protest the Vietnam War.

I’m sure the young of today will laugh at this historic memento.  So much has changed since 1969.  The idea of an unmarried couple being in bed together was scandalous enough, let alone being viewed in public.  “Make Love Not War” was the motto at the time.  The decade of the 1960’s and early 1970’s was one of optimism, turmoil and cultural change.  With the election of John F Kennedy the “new” generation was finally being represented and new traditions were being formed.  Hmm…maybe things haven’t changed that much after all.

Racist Shooter Expected to Live

348-museumshooting0611_ART_GP8I6VBI_1+vonBRUNN_JPG_embedded_prod_affiliate_138James von Brunn, the 88-year old gunman that killed 39-year old, Stephen Johns, a security guard at the U.S.  Holocaust Memorial Museum is expected to survive the injuries he suffered when other museum guards returned fire and shot him in the face.

James von Brunn’s son, Erik, has denounced his father’s actions.  Eric says “that his father’s bigotry was a shadow over his entire life.”  James von Brunn has already been incarcentated for 6-1/2 years for the attempted kidnapping of the Federal Reserve Board in 1981.

OMG…Nothing like spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to save a White Supremist, hateful racist. Then we taxpayers can spend another hundred thousand or so dollars to have a trial, which I cannot imagine has any other outcome than “guilty” .  Then, another few hundred thousand in appeals.  Then a possible death penalty sentenace.  Then the cost of the actual death of James von Brunn.

Wouldn’t it be cheaper for us taxpayers if they just let him die now?   Just wondering……

Child Molester Hosts Late Night Show

letterman-palin-bJeez, Sarah, give it up already.  Not only was David Letterman’s joke an insult against your daughter (s), but to Alex Rodriguez as well.  Keep speaking Sarah, there are a few people who still believe you’re not a complete idiot but the more you open your mouth the fewer there are.  Whats really irionic is that YOU are bringing the most attention to this whole situation!

Granted, David Letterman’s off color joke about Sarah Palin’s daughter getting knocked up by Alex Rodriguez is very inappropriate.  I can go further and call it in bad taste, a cheap shot, rotten, exploiting, degrading, and not funny.  Making any kind of sexual jokes about young females is disgusting but come on Sarah, referring to David Letterman as a potential child molester is no better than what he said to start this entire smear campaign.

Of course Sarah should be insulted, of course she should stand and defend her daughters, if they were being attacked.  The problem is it was supposed to be a “joke”, a sick one, but a “joke” that was told on national TV by one the most popular comedians of all time.  Maybe that last point is debatable, but I think you get my point.  Sarah, quit feeding into the media frenzy.  Unfortunately for you, this attack campaign you have going to “protect’ your daughters, will and is back firing on you.  Can you imagine if she was the President of the United States and a foreign leader would say something disparaging about her family?  WWIII would be on the horizon…Making jokes about my children, especially sexual jokes? Here let me push the button!  Sarah Palin, you are sending the women’s equality issues back 100 years.   You supposedly want to be associated with Jesus Christ, but by your character and words reveal themselves to be sarcastic, egotistical, biting, venomous, bitter, and abusive .  You are currently neglecting  the duties of your  job to attend to the advancement of your media coverage.  If anyone in this country was questioning whether a female would be too emotional to run the United States, you are giving them all of the ammunition that they need.

Sarah Palin attacks David Letterman

sarah_palin_2Sarah Palin is letting the big guns loose on David Letterman.  Letterman made an off color joke about Sarah’s daughter.  The joke was about Sarah’s recent visit to NYC and that “during the seventh inning, Sarah’s daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.

Since Sarah’s 14-year old daughter, Willow, was the only daughter with her during this trip, Palin is screaming “sexual perversion.”

“Laughter incited by sexual-perverted comments made by a 62-year old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year old girl is …disgusting”  is Sarah Palin’s exact comment.

Palin was incensed.  Alaska’s First Guy, Todd Palin, said “any ‘jokes’ about raping my 14-year-old are despicable.”

David  Letterman has issued an apology and stated that he meant Bristol Palin, Sarah’s 18-year old daughter.   Ok, that’s making it a little better, David.

“These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl,” he added.

“Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. Did I suggest that it was okay for her 14-year-old daughter to be having promiscuous sex? No,” Letterman said.

Sorry David anyway you look at it, it was a big blunder..Doesn’t matter if it was an 18 year old girl or a 14 year old girl.  Apologize once then go on…Anway, we know that Alex Rodriguez is dating Kate Hudson..the Palin’s don’t have a chance.

Baby Killer, George Tiller is DEAD !

I’m a little late getting this post up.  I sometimes get people riled up when it comes to my personal views on abortion.

The news is out that Tiller the Baby Killer is dead.  George Tiller,  a Kansas doctor who has performed thousands of abortions including late term abortions has been murdered himself while attending church.  He has been the target of anti-choice actists for a very long time.

Bill O’Reilly has discussed the doctor many times on his show, The O’Reilly Factor.  He is the one that has named him Tiller The Baby Killer and has said  that this man is “a moral equvalent of NAMBLA and al-Quida“.

O’Reilly’s rhetoric against Tiller was most troubling when he said that anyone who didn’t “stop” him would have “blood on their hands“:

sotomayor_052609ggord-angryG. Gordon Liddy has continuously launched verbal attacks on Judge Sonia Sotomayor.   First Liddy slammed Sotomayor’s affiliation with the civil rights group La Raza — and referred to the Spanish language as “illegal alien”.

LIDDY: I understand that they found out today that Miss Sotomayor is a member of La Raza, which means in illegal alien, “the race.” And that should not surprise anyone because she’s already on record with a number of racist comments.

Finished with the race-based attack, Liddy moved on to denigrate Sotomayor’s gender:

LIDDY: Let’s hope that the key conferences aren’t when she’s menstruating or something, or just before she’s going to menstruate. That would really be bad. Lord knows what we would get then.

Finally, Liddy disputed the entire idea that there’s anything wrong with the paucity of women and total lack of Hispanics on the Court:

LIDDY: And everybody is cheering because Hispanics and females have been, quote, underrepresented, unquote. And as you pointed out, which I thought was quite insightful, the Supreme Court is not designed to be and should not be a representative body.

I don’t by any means try to portray myself as the smartest rock in the box but isn’t it very unprofessional for him to make statements about her “menstruating or something”?  And if he truly did have a concern about her ability to make clear and rational decisions during her time of of month, shouldn’t it have been handled with a little more tact?

I don’t really know that much about the La Raza but I will be doing more research into the subject.  From what I understand so far the civil rights groups them is “All for the race and none for the rest”!  If this is true, I can see how her affiliation with this group could spark some uncomfortable questions.

Judge Sonia Sotmayor, WHAT WAS OBAMA THINKING !

sotomayor_052609I have personally stayed away from this subject of  Judge Sonia Sotomayor being nominated for Supreme Court by none other than President Obama.  I do know that many people instantly started defending her against racial and gender biased comments before any comments had even been made.  In my experience this usually happens in an attempt to hide unfavorable information and to warn anyone who may speak negatively about a particular subject.  From the research that I have done, Judge Sotomayor is a very intelligent and well edjucated woman with the experiance and “cohoonas” to match!  There is no doubt that she is extremely qualified for the position for which she has been nominated.

When I first began debating with my co-horts over this subject I was uneducated about Judge Sotomayor’s  judicial record, therefore felt unqualified to form opinions concerning her capabilities.  I do, however, have a fair understanding of  right from wrong.  Since this matter had already been divided along lines of race and gender, I debated that there was no question that this nominee was qualified for the position but was she the “most” qualified.  I asked if there was another candidate that was possibly overlooked that was more qualified because of their gender or her ethnic heritage.  I was then bombarded with slurs from those who support her nomination.  Since a debate consists of presenting opposing views I held my ground.  Otherwise it would have turned  into a conversation rather than a debate.

I presented that a team is only as strong as its weakest link.  America is after all a team. If we start accepting people of lesser qualifications due to their gender or racial background we all suffer. There is no substitution for quality in any aspect of your government.

There are some racist people out there in the world, sure!  However, there are a lot of people that are not racist that have legitimate concerns about the direction that the direction that our country is heading. Not just the government but the whole United States.

If you have two people that are ( equally ) qualified for a position, I can see selecting someone who is of a minority race or the gender that is not equally represented in that forum. However, when you have two people that are not ( equally ) qualified for a position and the person who is less qualified receives the job because of their race or gender then it is wrong.

Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, in a written statement, said Tuesday he’s concerned Sotomayor has shown “personal bias based on ethnicity and gender.”

“Judge Sotomayor will need to reassure the country that she will set aside her biases, uphold the rule of law and interpret the Constitution as written, not as she believes it should have been written,” said Smith, who will have no vote in the matter, as the confirmation is a Senate matter.

Perhaps Sotomayor’s most controversial decision was in Ricci v. DeStefano, in which she was part of a panel ruling against a group of white firefighters in New Haven, Conn. — they objected after the city threw out the results of a promotion test because too many white firefighters, and not enough minority firefighters, scored high.

She and two other judges summarily dismissed the case without tackling the complex issues outlined in stacks of briefs and debated in extended oral arguments. Instead, the court issued an unsigned, one-paragraph opinion. Sotomayor’s colleague, Judge Jose Cabranes, was so concerned that he wrote a lengthy dissent highlighting what many saw as an attempt to bury the case.

“This perfunctory disposition rests uneasily with the weighty issues presented by this appeal,” he wrote.

The discrimination case was later kicked up to the Supreme Court, and a decision is expected by late June.

Sotomayor has a record of being rebuffed by the high court. Of the six decisions she was a part of that came before the high court, five were reversed. In the sixth, the court disagreed with Sotomayor’s reasoning.

Senior administration officials said they have no concerns about the reversal rate or Sotomayor’s position in the firefighter case. But that and other cases are now ripe for analysis.

— In one case reversed by the Supreme Court, Sotomayor and the majority on the appeals court ruled that an inmate could sue a private corporation for injuries he suffered in a halfway house run by that company. Though the company operated the house on behalf of the Bureau of Prisons, Sotomayor argued that the company was not shielded from liability. The Supreme Court reversed the appeals court decision in 2001.

— In another case, Sotomayor dissented in a 2006 opinion that rejected a challenge to a New York law denying convicted felons the right to vote. She argued in her own dissenting opinion that the state law “disqualifies a group of people from voting.”

— Sotomayor, in 2003, also wrote an opinion that reversed a district court decision that a Muslim inmate’s rights were not violated when he was denied a holiday feast. Sotomayor argued that the inmate’s First Amendment rights were violated because the feast was important to his religion.

— In 1999, Sotomayor dissented in a decision to dismiss a case in which a black student claimed his school discriminated against him by transferring him mid-year from first grade to kindergarten. Sotomayor argued that the “lone black child” in the class was not given an “equal chance.”

— In 2007, Sotomayor wrote an opinion holding that the Environmental Protection Agency could not perform a cost-benefit analysis to determine the “best technology available.” She wrote it could only consider cost as a factor in more limited ways. This decision, too, was overturned by the Supreme Court.

— In 1993, Sotomayor threw out evidence obtained by police in a drug case, because a detective lied to obtain the search warrant — prosecutors agreed to a plea bargain. However, during sentencing Sotomayor made controversial statements by criticizing the five-year mandatory sentence, calling it an “abomination” that the defendant did not deserve.

I am glad to lve in America.  As a woman I have the opportunity to become whatever I may want to become.  I look to Sonia Mayor as both a roll model and in inspiration not only to me but to all women.  She stands as a shinning example of what a woman and someone of a minority heritage can achieve in America.  After reading and researching many of her cases, however, I must question the validity of her nomination to the Supreme Court and the intentions of President Obama who chose her.  It doesn’t seem logical to me that a “person” not a “woman or Hispanic” who has had to have so many decisions overturned and that is obviously bias should have been nominated.

Alec Baldwin, Opens mouth and Inserts Foot!

Alec Baldwin’s new motto should be  “Open Mouth Insert Foot”!  If you haven’t seen it yet, Alec Baldwin was on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’.  David asked Alec if he would like to have more kids?  He responded that he would but he might need to get a Filipino or Russian mail order bride first.  And the shit hit the fan!

Hot assed, Alec Baldwin has been slammed and damned for his comment.  Supposedly, even some Filipino officials took offense to his statement.  And we all know how Filipino’s love their ‘Late Show’!  NOT!

Wednesday, poor Alec, with tail tucked between his legs, issued an apology for joking that he might expand his family by getting  a Filipino or Russian mail-order bride during his appearance on “The Late Show”.

His apology is as follows, “I’d like to offer an apology and a clarification to remarks I made recently, While on the David Letterman program.  I joked that I might need a “mail-order bride'” to achieve the goal of having more children in my life.  I believe that most people understood that this was a joke and took it as such. (A dated reference, no dobt, and another sign of my advancing age.)  However, I do apologize to anyone who took offense.”

“The comments of some Philippine government officials come as no surprise to me, either, ” Baldwin wrote.  “even the one by a former action film star-turned-Senator who beckoned me to come to the Philippines so he could ‘beat’ me over my comment.  Such anger and frustration about the issue of sex trafficking is understandable.”

For the sake of argument, lets imagine for a moment that Alec did mean what he said.  I am sure everyone knew what he said was in jest, but some people saw it as a way to target someone and beat them down just to be mean in our “Politically Correct obsessed society”.  What if he did mean it?  So what?  If that is his opinion he shouldn’t have to lie and be forced to apologize because someone else disagrees!  Maybe he likes those kinds of women.  Who are we to dictate who someone can or can not date or marry.

I know you are all probably thinking no, its about sex trade.  But he didn’t say anything about the sex trade.  Some people may have assumed that was what he was referring to.  But again, then he would be apologize for what someone else assumed?

Obama made a “Politically Incorrect” crack about kids in the Special Olympics on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and didn’t get as much flack as Alec Baldwin has over something that could just be his opinion.  I want to hear what you think.

Children Trying to Understand Gay Marriage

This is a video that I got from one of my favorite blog.  I know that I love my friends that are gay but I love children even more…  What is right and what is wrong?  I know that I want my friends to be happy and to be able to experience life to its fullest.  But how will effect the kids…   I teach my children to love everyone for who they are, but what if their situation was different?

AFRICAN, it’s not just for blacks anymore!

afro4I’m sorry if I am about to offend anyone.  That is never my intention.  I found this article on and had to share it with you.  For those who don’t know me, I’m not one to mince words.  I believe in truth, justice and the American way.  I believe that political correctness is the enemy of truth.  Here is an example.

Paulo Serodio ( not pictured above ) says he was born and raised in Mozambique and now is a naturalized U.S. citizen.  Serodio has filed a lawsuit against a New Jersey medical school, claiming he was harassed and ultimately suspended for identifying himself during a class cultural exercise as a “white African-American.”

“I wouldn’t wish this to my worst enemy,” he said. “I’m not exaggerating. This has destroyed my life, my career.” The lawsuit, which asks for Serodio’s reinstatement at the school and monetary damages, named the Newark-based University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and several doctors and university employees as defendants. Filed Monday in U.S. District Court in New Jersey, the lawsuit traces a series of events that Serodio maintains led to his 2007 suspension, starting with a March 2006 cultural exercise in a clinical skills course taught by Dr. Kathy Ann Duncan, where each student was asked to define themselves for a discussion on culture and medicine.

After Serodio labeled himself as a white African-American, another student was offended by his comments and that, because of his white skin, was not an African-American.

According to the lawsuit, Serodio was summoned to Duncan’s office where he was instructed “never to dscribe himself as an African-American again”… because it was offensive to others and to people of color for him to do so.”

“It’s crazy,” Serodio’s attorney Gregg Zeff told “Because that’s what he is.”

Serodio, who lives in Newark, said he never meant to offend anyone and calling himself African-American doesn’t detract from another person’s heritage.

Neither the American Civil Liberties Union nor the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People responded to messages seeking comment on the meaning of African-American.

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines African-American as “an American of African and especially of black African descent.”

“There are people of all races who are African,” Serodio said, adding that he’s never had a problem identifying himself as an African-American until that day in Duncan’s class.

Zeff pointed out that Serodio only labeled himself after his instructors asked him to do so and was then penalized for it.

This sort of reminds me of the Carrie Prejean fiasco. Maybe they need to meet!

White House or Waffle House?

ht_choi_scan_090512_mnIt’s becoming increasingly disturbing to the democratic base that Obama is repeatedly waffling (flip-flopping) on so many of his campaign promises.  His recent blocking of over 2000 abuse photos (after saying that he would release them) joins many other decision reversals.  Where’s the transparency??  I can’t see it…  What about his “no one is above the law” statement?  Maybe I missed the fine print that said that didn’t include the prior administration….  Closing Guantanamo?  Oops, gonna need more time on that one….  Military tribunalsare halted!!  But now maybe they’re ok after all…  Add these to his promises for universal health care, immigration reform, troop withdrawal, and about a dozen others, and it’s starting to look like the “change we can believe in” is his change of mind.
Now, I realize that some of these decision reversals make sense.  I want a president who can think on his feet and make good decisions for our country.  One recent waffle, however, makes no sense at all.  Remember when he promised to repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy of the military?  Guess he hasn’t had time yet…  In the meantime, Lt. Daniel Choi, a graduate of West Point, twice deployed to Iraq, founder of “Knights Out” (an organization to advocate for gay and lesbian soldiers), and Arabic Linguist has been fired for publicly admitting he’s gay, along with over 12,000 other troops, 54 of whom were also Arabic Linguists.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t we NEED guys who are fluent in Arabic?
There’s a debate going on as to whether or not we need to keep water-boarding as one of the tools in our arsenal to keep our country safe.  I’m not so sure of that, but there’s one thing I AM pretty sure of.  You can water-board these guys over 183 times and make them confess to the kidnapping of the Lindberg baby or the Sharon Tate murders if that’s what you want, but you can’t make them say it IN ENGLISH!!!

Enhanced Interrogation or torture?

CHENEY 2000Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive…

Now, for those of you who turn on the news occasionally, and especially those with a political inclination, we have a heated controversy between the left and the right about these “enhanced interrogation techniques” used on accused terrorists during the last administration. For the sake of brevity, I’ll stay with waterboarding for this opinion.

What we know: Abu Zubaydah was waterboarded 83 times. Kalid Shaik Muhammed was waterboarded 183 times. They gave up valuable information, and they’re terrorists anyway. So far, sounds pretty good. Hey, the whole country was scared shitless and we did what we had to do, right? Not so fast…

Our former VP Dick Cheney (the one who spent most of his 8 years in office in a “secret, undisclosed location”) is now on various talk shows (FOX news, Face the Nation, State of the Union, and even a small time talk show in North Dakota or Montana) at least once every few weeks, and twice so far this week alone. He’s admitted that he authorized these “techniques” but disputes that they’re torture. His lawyers wrote legal memos saying so. Others who side with him go so far as to say that even if they’re torture, they were effective in extracting vital information from our enemies and thus justified — despite the fact that they are prohibited by the Geneva conventions, and that “it worked” is expressly forbidden as a defense to committing these crimes.

Yesterday began the first of many congressional investigations to come. Who’s testifying? One of the first was an FBI agent directly involved in the interrogation of both Abu Zubaydah and KSM. According to him and his records, virtually ALL of the information was gained in the first few hours by the FBI using traditional techniques. Enter the CIA (under orders of Cheney). They began to waterboard them, and they immediately shut down and would give no further information. In case you aren’t up to speed, the FBI withdrew from the interrogations about 4-6 months after the CIA came in with the head telling all agents to steer clear of this, it’s not going to turn out well. More to come later….

So, how does everyone feel about what was done in the name of our country? Is waterboarding torture? Jesse Ventura, a former governor, former wrestler, and former Navy SEAL who was voluntarily waterboarded in the SERE (survive, evade, resist, escape) program says it absolutely is. He describes it as the complete sensation of drowning, even though he knew it was unlikely to cause his death in those controlled circumstances. If it was done to a member of your family, would you call it torture?

If it is torture (which it has been determined to be by the Red Cross, official authority as per the Geneva conventions), was it ok for us to do it to these horrible people who attacked us? If so, why? Because it kept us safe? No, that’s being debunked as I type. Then maybe it’s ok because we hate them so much? If that’s justification, then why did we prosecute our own soldiers when they waterboarded prisoners of war in Viet Nam? Why did we put to death those who did it to our soldiers in Japan? Why were our soldiers in Iraq prosecuted (one still in jail today) for doing this at Abu Ghraib? The government said they were “a few bad apples” to justify punishing them, while we now know the orders came from Rumsfeld who got them from Cheney.

So, what are everyone’s thoughts on this period in our country’s history? Did we do what we needed to and had to do? Did we overstep our bounds, sacrifice our morals for our safety? Are we, as Al Quada claims, a nation of hypocrites?

New “Buy Black Experiment” May Become a Nationwide Movement

Buying BlackI usually do not write about subjects that may have the possibility of becoming racially charged, but this time, I must make an exception.  As reported on Fox this morning, a Chicago family has begun what they are quoted as calling an “Empowerment Experiment”.  Maggie and John Anderson of Chicago vowed four months ago that for one year, they would try to patronize only black-owned businesses.  This “Empowerment Experiment” is why John had to suffer for hours with a stomach ache, Maggie no longer gets that brand-name shampoo to wash her hair  and a grocery trip is a 14-mile excursion.

Mrs. Anderson was quoted as saying  “It’s like, my people have been here 400 years and we don’t even have a Walgreens to show for it.”  The Andersons are following up with 4,000 people who signed up to join the experiment on their Web site to gauge their commitment and set up online accounts to track their spending. Hundreds have also joined the experiment’s Facebook page.

Dallas Smith, who owns a commercial real estate firm in Atlanta, said “We’ve still got that ‘the white man’s water is colder’ mentality,” he said. “We can’t take us for granted. When we go to our establishments, it’s almost like we’re doing a favor. That ought to be a given for us.”

Maggie Anderson says ” The response has been so huge. “We think so much can come out of this. We’re in movement-making mode now.”

I have to agree with Maggie Anderson.  They are in a making mode now.  Making the United States even more racial and making it  a worse place to live.  I’m sorry, but I thought the whole point of being in American was to help each other and do away with things that make us different.  This couple and the people who follow their example seem to revel in the things that make them stand apart.  They make the argument that their is not enough black businesses.  I took this as meaning that there are not an equal amount of black businesses as there is white owned businesses.  According to what I have read, however, blacks only make up 12 to 13% of the current U.S. population, so how could is it possable to have equal representation?

I personally frequent my favorite market that is owned by a very nice, professional Iranian gentleman who has gotten to be friends with my whole family.  His patrons are an equal mix of whites and blacks.  We go to our favorite Chinese restaurant probably once a week.  Their customers seem to be mostly white and Hispanic.  I get my nails done at a shop that is owned by Vietnamese.  Most of her customers are an equally white and black.   And I purchase beauty supplies from Sally’s which is black owned and most of her customers an equal mix of black and white.

That being said, what if white people were to start an “Empowerment Experiment” and only made  purchases from white owned business?  Wouldn’t that just hurt the people that are of  Asian, Hispanic and Middle Eastern decent that came to America to work hard and make a better life for themselves and their families?  Wouldn’t this also hurt the black community?  After reading this article and noticing all of the references to “the white mans water” and “white stores” I do not believe that the intentions of this “experiment”  is about black empowerment at all.  I think its more about hurting businesses that are not black.

What the hell is going on with Obama? I personally like the man. I think that he is very handsome. He is personable, charismatic and knows how to woo an audience. I am interested in seeing what all he is going to be able to do.

I did watch the Elite dinner tonight. I also saw him when he made the comment about the Special Olympic Children when he was on the Tonight Show. I think he has a great personality and a wonderful sense of humor. However, a great sense of humor does not a President make. If he were any other President in the history of the United States of America, the comments that he has made would not be taken so lightly. So why do Americans take what he says so lightheartedly when they would have chewed up and spit out any other man?

I can’t wait to read your comments!ad your comments……
