McNair’s Death Murder-Suicide?

The plot thickens in the death of former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair.  The female friend he was found with is Sahel Kazemi, age 20.  Kazemi had a single gunshot wound to the head while McNair was shot multiple times.  A pistol was recovered close to Kazemi’s body.

What’s getting intriguing is that earlier in the evening Kazemi was pulled over at 1:20 am for a DUI.  She was driving a Cadillac Escalade that is registered to her and McNair, and McNair was in the front passenger seat.  (Note:  It is now being reported that Kazemi was stopped Thursday evening and told the police that she wasn’t drunk, but was high instead.)  McNair was found not to be in any violations and he left the scene in a taxi.  Witnesses say that McNair arrived at his condo in the early hours of Saturday while Kazemi’s vehicle was already there.

McNair’s wife is reported to be devastated and has been cleared in any connection of his murder.  Police have also said that they are not looking for any suspects at this time.  Possibly a murder-suicide?   My first guess was a jealous boyfriend or ex-husband.  This sounds like it will be devastating for all of the family and friends of the McNeil’s, other than the obvious.    What was the relationship of 36-year old McNair and 20-year old Kazemi?

Either way another celebrity struck down in his prime.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to McNair’s wife and family.

    • The only facts I can find so far is that she was raised by her sister in Jacksonville, FL and that her mother was from Iran and was killed when Kazemi was 9 years old. I will let you know when I find out more.

  2. I saw Steve play his last game at Alcorn University before he went pro. We even have it on a video. We didn’t know him personally but we were proud of his accomplishments. He was leaving Mississippi for a promising pro football career. In the end, a miss step in judgment extinguished his life too soon. Do not believe the hype about his filifng for a divorce. He wasn’t. His wife was alive and well living on a farm with his kids and extended family nearby in Mt. Olive, Mississippi.

I wished someone had warned him about wolves in sheep’s clothing. He might be alive today.
