Michael Jackson’s – Casket

Finally some interesting news about Michael Jackson, other than what kind of drugs he was taking…  The media has been bombarding everyone with minute by minute updates on his funeral plans.  The family is talking. The family is still talking.  They are making plans.  They are about to make a decision…  I personally have found all of the blow by blow action very irritating.   We now all know, finally, that Michael’s service will be held at the Staples Center complex in downtown Los Angeles.

Now here is the scoop.  Michael’s casket…  It’s no pine box.  Its a $25,000, solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated, custom casket.

The casket — ordered last night from Batesville Casket Company — is called a Promethean and will feature a flame blue velvet interior and a hand-polished, mirror finish.

This is the same casket used to bury James Brown… and is extremely rare.

  1. If I had $25K, I’d be tempted to buy it myself and crawl in. I seriously don’t know how much more “breaking news” about Michael Jackson I can take. I love his music and think he was a gentle and misunderstood soul, but I sure hope he’s getting more rest where he is than we are in front of our TV sets. Puleeze!! My ears are about to bleed already!!

  2. All I ask is why? I am sorry for his family, especially his kids, that they have lost someone that they love. But why spend that kind of money for something that is going to never be seen again. Michael isn’t there in that casket. He’s been gone from here since the last breath that he took. I can understand feeling like you want to do something, that will be the last, for your loved one but do it for his kids. Put your time, energy and resourses into them. They are the ones that will suffer thru this for the rest of their lives. Put it all to rest already. I frankly and tired of hearing about it all. Find out why he died, other than the Lord called him, and then leave it alone.

  3. Oh, and I also heard that they are selling tickets to his memorial service. They have also reserved some to give away as a lottery for those that can’t afford to purchase a ticket, or miss out on one. Now, this to me is very very tacky. I wonder who came up with this idea? This is as tacky as when one of them Jackson brothers announced to the media that his brother, The King Of Pop, Michael Jackson has passed away. Now, that was tacky too but the tickets and lottery take the cake.
