Thoughts on Love, Sex & Entertainment

Michael Vick Loves Dogs

72I’m not sure how I feel about this yet.  NFL star Michael Vick was released from a Kansas prison Wednesday morning.  He is now on home confinement for 2 months to finish his 23 month sentence for dog fighting.  Of course, Vick is saying the “correct” things and trying to “do” the correct things to revitalize his career.  He has contacted Wayne Pacelle, president of the Humane Society of the United States and wants to work with the organization in getting the message out to the urban teens  that training dogs to fight until death is wrong.  Do as I say, not as I do…..Hmm….I wonder if he’d be anti dogfighting if he hadn’t been caught?   It’s kind of like closing the barn door after the horses have gotten out.  Pacelle has gone on record saying that he has met with Vick at Leavenworth prison.

Once again, hmmm……At one time Vick played for the Atlanta Falcons and was one of the highest paid quarterbacks of all time .  Somehow all the money, fame and glory wasn’t enough for him.  Most wayward football players dabble in the celebrity life, but not Vick, who chose to fight and kill dogs for his entertainment.  He has gone on record stating that he wants to play football again.   He hopes to persuade NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to reinstate him.

Will the public forgive Vick for his “bad decisions and let him play professional football once again?”  The National Humane Society is taking a big risk in backing this guy.  Sure people can change, but can they change this drastically in such a short amount of time?  I have a feeling that if you dangle a large amount of money in front of Vick, he just might become anything the public wants him to become.

  1. I have greater faith that the dogs can be rehabilitated than MV. Train dogs to kill for sport? Derive pleasure and profit from it? Once it’s in your veins, not sure you can bleed it out. Just my opinion.

    • xy08, I agree. I also think it is strange for him to be seeking out the head of humain society to say he wants to help thier cause. Especially after just getting out of prison. It seem to me more like a ploy to try to regain the publics trust and the support of his fans that he lost when he was convicted. Just my opinion.

  2. Can we euthanize him? Yes, Vick. The guy is a piece of crap I don’t think all the money in the world could make him a better person, he is too stupid.

The dogs can be rehabilitated, thre is where my money would go.

  3. So far we are all in agreement. I think most of the world is in agreement about Vick. No doubt some football team will sign him though. He’ll only be making a small percent of what he was making before, but he will be back. I would think that whatever team picks him up will have protesters outside of the stadium on game days. I don’t know if a team would pick him up without the endorsement from the US Humaine Society. Oh, I did see a Tv Show about the rehabilitation of the remaining dogs and they are doing great and were adopted by loving families.
